A state trooper attempted to perform a run of the mill traffic stop on a Blue Ford Explorer in Brownsville, Texas. The driver of the vehicle insisted on not yielding to the officer, instead invoked a high speed chase. While in pursuit of the fleeing vehicle, shots would be fired from the suspect.

The wild goose chase would take another turn, as the incident spilled over into a residential area. Several law enforcement agencies attempted to find the evasive man and schools would be put in lock down as a result.
